SINOPSIS
La película no me llamo Carla es un registro cotidiano con toques de diario fílmico donde comparto, dialogo y juego junto a mi hermana mayor Carla de 41 años con Síndrome de Down. La observo y reflexiono tejiendo un relato donde la naturaleza particular de la Patagonia y todos sus elementos me regalan momentos de desconexión. El hacerme padre me permitió empatizar con la historia de mi madre y la infancia de mi hermana hace 40 años en donde la rechazaban de jardines y a mi madre le decían que hija era un castigo de dios. Con mi cámara como una extensión de mi mirada filmo a mi hija aurora de 4 años y me permito viajar y explorar mi niñez en donde siempre estuvo presente Carla y también donde nuestra relación no me permitía ver lo importante que es para mí. En esta historia la acompaño en un proceso de perdida, perdida de visión del único ojo que aún mantiene, tratando de rescatar aquella luz y aquellas imágenes con mi cámara. Imágenes que probablemente nunca verá pero que de
algún modo se inmortalizarán y será un obsequio de mi parte.
The film, my name is not Carla, is a daily record with touches of a film diary where I share, dialogue and play with my older sister Carla, who is 41 years old with Down Syndrome. I observe and reflect on it, weaving a story where the particular nature of Patagonia and all its elements give me moments of disconnection. Becoming a father allowed me to empathize with the story of my mother and my sister’s childhood 40 years ago where she was rejected from gardens and my mother was told that her daughter was a punishment from God. With my camera as an extension of my gaze, I film my 4-year-old daughter Aurora and I allow myself to travel and explore my childhood where Carla was always present and also where our relationship did not allow me to see how important it is to me. In this story I accompany her in a process of loss, loss of vision of the only eye that she still has, trying to rescue that light and those images with my camera. Pictures you’ll probably never see but
somehow they will be immortalized and it will be a gift from me.

Director audiovisual en programa cultural de TVN. Montajista de serie documentales (Navegantes del Patagonia, Pueblo Originarios, Naufragios , Mankacen). Director en cortometrajes documental de su autoría (Yo disparo, Nothofagus, Luz encuentra la luz). Director de fotografía en diferentes cortometrajes documentales. Actualmente dirige su opera prima en desarrollo “No me llamo Carla”.
